Triad SQL Server User Group

The Triad SQL Server Users Group (TSSUG); is a forum where Microsoft SQL Server database administrators and developers meet to learn more about the product, share ideas and make contact with other similar individuals. Our group is run by SQL Server professionals for the benefit of anyone interested in participating in the group.
All of our meetings are free and open to anyone who is interested in sharing their knowledge of SQL Server. Our meetings are generally held on the last Tuesday of every other month, unless otherwise noted. Food is no longer being provided, however you are welcome to bring in your own.

On-Premesis to the Cloud

Speaker: Shannon Lowder

Summary: Everyone has heard Microsoft is offering their database in the cloud, but what does that mean for you to the developer or admin? There's a lot of opportunity in converting from on-premesis to the cloud, but there's a few pitfalls too. My presentation will walk you through a migration from a server closet on a 5k frame all the way to the cloud.

About Shannon: Look no further for expertise in: Business Analysis to gather the business requirements for the database; Database Architecting to design the logical design of the database; Database Development to actually build the objects needed by the business logic; finally, Database Administration to keep the database running in top form, and making sure there is a disaster recovery plan.
