Triad SQL Server User Group

The Triad SQL Server Users Group (TSSUG); is a forum where Microsoft SQL Server database administrators and developers meet to learn more about the product, share ideas and make contact with other similar individuals. Our group is run by SQL Server professionals for the benefit of anyone interested in participating in the group.
All of our meetings are free and open to anyone who is interested in sharing their knowledge of SQL Server. Our meetings are generally held on the last Tuesday of every other month, unless otherwise noted. Food is no longer being provided, however you are welcome to bring in your own.

Summary: The hottest buzzword today in IT circles is “cloud”. What does it really mean? Is it for me and my business? This presentation will get down to the bottom of what Microsoft’s version of the “cloud” is and how you can leverage it in your business. SQL Azure is Microsoft’s cloud offering. We will discuss its similarities and differences to on premises SQL Server. We will demonstrate setting up an Azure database and connecting to it via Entity Framework.

About Jason: Jason Petrin has been a consultant for RDA Corporation for the past 4 years. Specializing in MS Azure and MS BizTalk, Jason has been working as a software engineer since 1997. Today he lives and works in Charlotte, NC with his wife and two young children.
