Triad SQL Server User Group

The Triad SQL Server Users Group (TSSUG); is a forum where Microsoft SQL Server database administrators and developers meet to learn more about the product, share ideas and make contact with other similar individuals. Our group is run by SQL Server professionals for the benefit of anyone interested in participating in the group.
All of our meetings are free and open to anyone who is interested in sharing their knowledge of SQL Server. Our meetings are generally held on the last Tuesday of every other month, unless otherwise noted. Food is no longer being provided, however you are welcome to bring in your own.

Database Performance Optimization: Problem Diagnosis and Solution

Speaker: Jim Owen KJL Software Inc.

Summary: So your users are complaining that their database application is slowing down, or is not delivering the performance results that they require. The programmers say it's not their fault, and blame it on the hardware, or the SQL Server installation and configuration. The network engineers say it's not the network, and the problem falls into YOUR lap. What do you do? This session will help to provide you with tools, methods, and procedures for analyzing database performance problems, and providing solutions for performance improvement no matter where the problem lies. Presented by a veteran application developer who is also an Oracle and SQL Server DBA, this session will provide information that will prove useful to all DBAs.

About Jim: Jim and Gerhard are a senior Database and Applications Development consultants with KJL Software Inc. Jim had over 20 years of IT experience, and has extensive Oracle and SQL Server experience, both as DBA and developer.
