Triad SQL Server User Group

The Triad SQL Server Users Group (TSSUG); is a forum where Microsoft SQL Server database administrators and developers meet to learn more about the product, share ideas and make contact with other similar individuals. Our group is run by SQL Server professionals for the benefit of anyone interested in participating in the group.
 
All of our meetings are free and open to anyone who is interested in sharing their knowledge of SQL Server. Our meetings are generally held on the last Tuesday of every other month, unless otherwise noted. Food is no longer being provided, however you are welcome to bring in your own.

Query Store Primer

Speaker: Tracy Boggiano, Database Superhero FM:Systems

Summary: This session will take a look at the new Query Store feature in SQL Server 2016. Query Store tracks changes in execution plans, allowing you to easily view performance differences and revert to older plans with a few clicks of the mouse. We will take a hands on look at how to use Query Store to troubleshoot problems as well as some of the new DMVs you can use to find issues as they arise.

About Tracy: Tracy is a Database Administrator for Broadvine. She has spent over 20 years in IT and has been using SQL Server since 1999 and is currently certified as a MCSE Data Platform. She has worked on SQL Server since 6.5. She has spoken at local user groups and numerous SQLSaturdays. She is currently a co-leader of a Special Interest Group for Advanced DBA topics. She also is currently leading bring Linux content into the various virtual PASS groups. Tracy also tinkered with databases in middle school to keep her sports card collection organized. She blogs at databasesuperhero.com. Her passion outside of SQL Server is volunteering with foster children as their advocate in court through volunteerforgal.org.
